Welcome to the Delta Vector Control District web site.  Our commitment is to ensure the public protections necessary from mosquito-borne disease and discomfort.  With the confirmation of the first human case of 2008 occurring in Visalia, we will be providing West Nile risk analysis on a daily basis for the residents of the District.

Human risk for West Nile virus within the Delta Vector Control District is considered to be increased when tiles are colored red or gold.  The District uses the information derived from dead bird calls received over the previous 21 days to direct surveillance and control activities.

Residents are encouraged to protect against mosquito bites by using DEET, draining standing water, reporting dead birds and untended swimming pools.  If you have any questions please ask as we are here to serve you.
