Jesse Erandio


Jesse was born in the Philippines and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in northern California. He began his career with the District in 2017 and, as a Biologist, he is responsible for performing the District’s vector-borne disease testing as well as leading the drone program. Before joining Delta Vector Control District, Jesse was a Lab Assistant for the California Department of Public Health, a Hotline Operator for the West Nile Virus and Dead Bird Call Center, and a Student Assistant for the Davis Arbovirus Research and Training Laboratory. All positions supported public health by monitoring vector-borne diseases across California through various laboratory and field methods. 

He holds a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis. Jesse is certified by the California Department of Public Health as a Vector Control Technician in Categories A through D.

Aside from work, Jesse enjoys drawing, playing video games, playing music, flying his drone, and traveling. He has studied charcoal drawing, photography, video game design, and 2D-animation at the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. He has also been playing his cello since 2006, with his middle school, high school, and the UC Davis Symphony.
