Activity within the District is updated every Friday by 4:00 PM. For information about WNV in the entire state of California, please visit westnile.ca.gov.

Mosquito Samples

West Nile Virus:11          St. Louis Encephalitis Virus: 0          Western Equine Encephalitis Virus: 0

There were 2 new WNV positive mosquito samples detected in Visalia. A total of 11 mosquito samples have tested positive in the District out of the 373 mosquito samples tested in 2021.

A sample may contain up to 50 individual mosquitoes.

There was 1 dead birds that tested positive for WNV in Visalia.  A total of 8 dead birds have been tested in 2021.

Report dead birds to the WNV call center at 1-877-968-2473. Dead birds may be testable for WNV, SLEV, and WEEV.

No human cases of a mosquito-borne disease have been reported to Delta MVCD in 2021.

The Tulare County Public Health Department reports human cases to the District.
